As someone who finds tremendous beauty in nostalgia, I’ve always held a deep appreciation for family heirlooms. I cherish the treasures my grandmother left me (and often turn to them for a good cry)—pieces of her wedding dress, jewelry, pressed four-leaf clovers, and lost love letters stowed away in her purse. I always wondered, though, what her bridal bouquet looked like. I began imagining a world where it was possible to pass down still-life compositions of flowers from monumental moments—which is where my love for bridal bouquet preservation began.

It has since become my everyday passion to craft intentional, living pieces of art that speak volumes today and stir emotions for generations to come.

Today, I combine my technical architectural skills, my honed eye for scale and color, and my self-taught floral craftsmanship to create a sequence of design that begins with the birth of a bespoke bouquet and ends with preserving it as a rich, everlasting family heirloom.

From those desires, Arquiflora was born.

After seven years working as both an architectural designer and in my family’s floral boutique, I knew I brought something distinct to the table: the technical discipline, nuanced understanding of scale, and expert approach to composition that is so often missing from today’s Pinterest-plucked bouquets. I wanted to breathe new life into the way the wedding world looked at bridal bouquets. I wanted to help people understand and appreciate every phase of a flower’s life. I wanted to build and preserve bouquets in the same manner an architect designs a building: with unparalleled intention.

The daughter of immigrants, I was studying architecture when my family opened a floral shop—and, I’ll be honest: I initially wanted nothing to do with their new endeavor. It wasn’t until one Saturday when I helped my mom process flowers for an event that my perception of flora completely shifted.

I realized floral composition paralleled architecture, and suddenly found myself deep in love with the art of crafting intentional arrangements and installations.

GET TO KNOW ME

Hi, Bella—I’m Karen Gómez, the floral composer and creative mind behind Arquiflora.

As a lover of nostalgia who holds tight to family heirlooms, it is my everyday joy to give people the ability to share their wedding flowers with those who come after them. Through my signature preservation process, I turn today’s live flowers into a still-life composition designed to inspire generations of matrimony and share stories of rich family history for decades to come.

I believe in bridging the gap between generations with tangible art.

Rather than simply trying to replicate an internet image, I believe you deserve a bouquet that’s as spirited as your love story. By listening deeply to your desires for your day, gaining nuanced insight into your style and personality, and offering custom recommendations selected solely for you—together, we build a piece of living art that’s entirely intentional and impossible to recreate.

I believe your wedding bouquet is far too important to pluck from Pinterest.

Rather than being “just another piece” of event décor, I believe flowers—when curated and composed with purpose— can elevate a moment in a way that’s often overlooked. It’s my goal to help couples see flora in a new light—which is why I walk you through each step of my creative process, allowing you to develop deep insight into the color, meaning, texture, scent, and placement of every last bloom.

I believe in inspiring a fresh appreciation for flowers.
